I took part in the second Saturday art event in Downtown Mckinney last night. The turnout of both artists and “crowds” was low and no sales but I did have fun sitting under the trees painting away from the intense heat and brightness of the sun on a day that topped 103. By 9.00pm the temperature had dropped to under 100 degrees but we were all ready to pack up and head to the pub for a cold drink and calamari. The best part for me was walking amongst the other artists and seeing them working. I worked on yet another Frenchie because it meant I could limit the number of paints I had to take and I managed to almost finish him. I’ll be back in September this time outside Landon’s winery.
I enjoyed talking to all the other artists and even a local gallery owner who suggested I come in and speak with him about licensing some of my paintings for Home decor. It’s certainly something worth exploring.
